A Celebration of African American Cultures and Achievement Greetings! 23 years and Counting!
The Roots and Heritage Festival started as a vision; and with an enthusiastic group of
community trailblazers, mixed with hard work, sweat, tears, and a lot of faith, the Festival has culminated into the wonderful, award-winning, nationally recognized showpiece that it is today.
I cannot thank you enough for your support of the Festival throughout the years.
Seeing the smiling faces of people enjoying the Festival activities is what
motivates the many volunteers to commit year after year.
Most of all, I want to express my sincerest love and appreciation to the sponsors and
community partners for their belief and support, and to the volunteers (unpaid!) for their tireless efforts and many hours of hard work done because of their love of the
Festival and this community. This could not have continued as long as it has without you!
If you enjoy the Festival, please thank the committee and volunteers if you see them,
and write a note to a sponsor letting them know that you appreciate their continued support.
That encouragement and recognition is what keeps us going. Also, we are always
in need of other volunteers for the committees and for financial donations a
nd contributions to continue and increase the programming of the Festival.
Please contact me to be a part of this fantastic organization.
With much gratitude,
Kimberly Henderson Baird
